All right, here's a special addition to my one AMV, because it's based on ultimately the anime created from my favourite game ever, so I can't help but explain how it relates back to the game and *why* I believe it was such a good song choice for a video.
This Is Who We Are (Hawthorne Heights) - Colette Brunel and Lloyd Irving
____________________________________________
Between the future and the past tense Lies the present in the distance So you think we're never coming back Scoring points for passion and persistence :: Colette constantly persevered through the Angel Toxicosis despite how much it was changing here, and never said a word, never complained, nothing.
Between the lines and the highway... Lies the danger and the safety :: Between the edge of safety (not finishing her journey) and the point which would kill her (regenerating Sylvarant and becoming Martel's vessel)
You never thought this was gonna last I always knew you'd never take it back I always knew, I always knew.
I know it seems like we're never coming back I know it feels like we're never coming back :: Lloyd was experiencing despair in learning that Colette would die to regenerate the world, and therefore never come back.
You tried your best and you knew it wouldn't last :: Colette knew that Lloyd tried his best for her, and she also knew that despite that she was still going to die, leaving him behind. Lloyd also tried his best to save her when they ran away from Cruxius and to Tethe'alla with Sheena.
They were the words that she placed on her casket. :: Colette's goodbye speech in the Tower of Salvation, basically. Thanking Lloyd, saying that she was sorry, as she prepared to die in order to save Sylvarant.
[repeat last 4 lines]
Between the sadness and the smile Lies the flicker of the fire :: Lloyd, despite feeling absolute horror at Colette's condition and her smile as she was about to give up her life lingering in his mind, was still fired up and confident that he would be able to save her. In other words the depression he was feeling was acting as a driving force to fuel his want to save Colette even more.
You always said this never hurt you :: Colette always tried to keep her angel transformations a secret, pretending she wasn't affected by it at all. I always said you were a liar :: Lloyd actually called her a liar when he found out, because she lied about it affecting her.
With all the towers and the wires Here still lies a little silence Two hearts and one connection :: Lloyd and Colette have a connection like no other. As stated when doing the friendship fortunes with the fortune teller in the Triet Oasis... They're like soulmates.
One voice lets emotion out :: Lloyd acted as Colette's interpreter when she lost her voice and would draw letters on his palm. As well, Colette's statement, "Even though you're crying for me" draws the connection that Lloyd was the one carrying all of her emotion and expressing it, because she was unable to cry.
[Chorus]
Instead of flowers, I have words that never mattered. :: "Words that never mattered" refers to his promise to finish her birthday present before she left... While he didn't finish it until they were in Tethe'alla and he attached her Key Crest to it, and despite that, the Key Crest didn't work [at first].
Close it off, forget about the sadness. [2x] :: Lloyd closed off the part of his heart that was sad and focused on trying to return Colette to normal, rather than dwelling on the fact that he might not have been able to and the sacrifice she'd made.
He always said she should have tried crying. Blaming him as she was lying down.
I'm coming back [4x] :: Lloyd's desire to find a way to bring Colette back to her normal self.

The rest of the song just repeats the chorus, but... Yeah, I drew a lot of parallels with the song. xD If you've ever played the game entirely through even once you SHOULD be able to understand the parallels.
Hope y'all enjoyed my little extra. <<
