It was obvious that Hawk did not want to be any where near school. To him school was work...and he hated work. Sitting down all day, writing things on a piece of paper for hours on end wasn't his idea of fun. He tried to get out of it, but Impmon had other plans for him it seemed. His digimon had woken up early just to make sure that Hawk was up and ready for his first day. Hawk wasn't thrilled about how he got woken up either, a fire ball to the butt wasn't his idea of a good morning. He sighed with that kind of incentive he would have to get his ass out of bed before Impmon barbequed it. The dwarf mourned over his favourite pair of PJ bottoms that were ruined because of his digi-alarm clock. Luckily he got rid of them before anyone noticed, it would be hard to explain burnt pants to anyone.
The alarm clock in question wanted to hop along for the ride to Hawk's first day. Impmon was taking a nap in Hawk's backpack, which made Hawk extremely jealous, he mumbled to himself about how unfair it was to have to wake up so early and so roughly. He tried to forget it, there was nothing he could do now except to move on with his day. He tried to think positive about what good could come from school. The only thing he thought of was cute girls, but it was too early in the morning for him to notice if there was any. He was hoping to make a friend at least, one that didn't wake up him up at ungodly times in the morning for fun.
But unfortunately school hadn't even started yet...it was still summer. But since he was already at school he might as well find something to do. He found a soccer field and was bored and frustrated enough for him to try a sport for once in his life. Hawk dropped his back pack on the ground and woke Impmon inside. He unzipped it and impmon popped out. “What do you think the big idea is!” “My big idea! You're the one who woke me up thinking it was school. When school doesn't even start till who knows when. But since we're here we might as well do something!” Impmon laughed, finding his own joke amusing and then got out of the bag. “I'm tired, I'll watch from the stands.” Impmon hopped up by a nearby bench and went right back to sleep.
Hawk was very tempted to use him as the ball, but decided against it. He found a soccerball and tried to kick it, but missed and fell backwards. “How troublesome.” He got back up, but Hawk just fell over again, the ball hadn't even moved.

”All right, he shoots and,” Takeru made a shot towards the basket, smiling as it went in with a ‘swoosh’,”And he scores just as the buzzer rings. Victory goes to Takeru Taikashi.”
Panting a little bit, due to being out of breath, Takeru enjoyed his so called ‘victory’. Of course, it was very hard to loose when you’re the only one playing. Still, that didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy himself, right? A little bit of atmosphere was a great way to make a workout more fun. Looking over to the ‘cheerleader’, aka Patamon, he saw the little guy was getting into the act two, adding in his own cheers and shouts of joy. Yep, much better than just shooting hoops alone and quiet. Picking up the ball, Takeru walked over and scooped up Patamon.
”Well, I think that’s good for the day. We should probably get out of here before someone else shows up.” Takeru said, remembering that since it was a holiday he technically wasn’t supposed to be in the gym. Still, it was the closest gym to his home; the convenience was worth the risk to him. Patamon, of course, didn’t look too happy about it.
”Awwww, but Takeru, I wanted to stay and watch you play some more.” [/color] he pouted. He liked watching Takeru play basketball; even more fun when he was competing against someone. And if it was Daisuke, even better cause he could get into a friendly rivalry with his partner V-mon. ”Like I said Patamon, we’re not even supposed to be here. I’m going to grab my bag and we’re going.”Disappointed, Patamon just settled into Takeru’s arm as the boy grabbed his bag, stuffing the basketball inside in the process. Patamon was glad about one thing though; he didn’t need to ride in that bag. Being called a ‘lucky stuffed-toy’ worked fine for him. Allowed him to watch the games and avoid the smell of Takeru’s dirty gym clothes. It was because of that said complaint that Takeru had kept him out of the bag actually. And for that Patamon was grateful. Exiting the gym, Takeru made sure everything was in place before he started to make his way off the property. As they were heading out, however, he noticed a kid out in the field apparently failing to kick a soccer ball. Well, he knew it wasn’t Tai or Daisuke, that was for sure. Other than that, he had no clue who it was. Kind of short though. Maybe he had a stunted growth or something. But there was something more important than height issues; the Digimon. It wasn’t hostile, so Takeru was pretty sure that Digimon had to belong to the kid. If that was the case, it meant he was a Chosen Child, and it was his job as a veteran to help the kid out. ”Hey, you there, with the Digimon, mind if I come over and talk for a bit?” Takeru said as he walked over to introduce him and Patamon. Unless the kid didn’t want to talk, though this would be a rare case where he would force someone to talk. After all, Digimon weren’t a joking matter, and if this kid didn’t know what he was doing then he could get hurt or hurt someone else.[/size][/blockquote]

He was getting the hang of it...sorta. Hawk could at least hit the ball with out falling over now, although the ball moved about five feet at best. The dwarf was tired out from all of his physical excursion and sat down beside Impmon wanting to wake him up out of spite. He pondered though from what Impmon explained to him he was just data...why did he need sleep? The whole idea of digimon was still something Hawk couldn't grasp...and then there was this strange digivice he got. Hawk pulled out the device in question and looked at it, wondering if it actually even did anything.
Deciding that if you can't beat them it's better to join them. Hawk laid down on the same bench Impmon was, since they were both so small they both easily fit there. Iggy was just about to get comfortable when he heard a voice. Which made him quickly get up and almost fall over by his sudden movement. He looked at the other boy with confusion. “What digimon? Don't know what your talking about. This thing is my stuffed animal!” He was nervous so he yelled a little to loudly, which woke up Impmon. His stuffed his digivice in his pocket and ran over to his troublesome Digimon.
“Hey, don't you have any manners. I'm trying to sleep here.” Impmon got up and started to yell at Hawk, not even realizing the other boy behind him. Hawk tried to think of a way to get out of this, but for what ever reason he couldn't. The whole ventriloquism trick wouldn't work since he wasn't holding on to Impmon. His last plan wasn't much of a plan at all, more or less it was running away. Impmon turned around to see the other two and then pondered what was going on. “Who are they?” He pointed to Takeru, but the use of Impmon's grammar confused him.
“They?Hate to break it to you, but there is only one person there.” He looked around not realizing that Patamon was a digimon, since the only one he ever saw in his life was Impmon. “Well he wanted to talk to us about digimon. And ya know, I'd rather not so sorry pal. But I have to run!” He grabbed Impmon and was about to make a run for it, but Impmon wasn't going anywhere. He tugged on the digimon but Impmon still didn't budge. “Ya know, it's rude to leave after a person says hi to you. You said you wanted friends right, well you won't get any if you run away." He didn't know if Impmon was being helpful or harmful. Hawk wondered if he could make a break for it and leave the Digimon, but that wouldn't be right. It was troublesome but he had grown attached to the troublemaker.
He sighed in defeat and sat down. “Fine....what do you want to talk about?”

The kid seemed comfortable, but apparently their presence was enough to agitate him. As soon as Takeru asked him about the Digimon, the kid was yelling confused and denying it all. Takeru sighed a little, but before he could say anything the kid was off…and his Digimon was apparently awake as well. He seemed to have a little more sense, as he seemed to notice them was actually curious on to what they were doing here. Takeru and Patamon just kind of stood there, not really sure how to react to the kid’s behavior. They could obviously catch up to him if he tried to run; he was kind of short, and Takeru did play sports. At the same time, the kid obviously sounded worried about someone finding out about his Digimon, though admittedly said Digimon’s talking sort of ruined that.
As the other two apparently argued with each other about the situation, Takeru and Patamon just whispered quietly to themselves.
”Those two make a bit of an odd pair, don’t you think? Reminds me of Joe and Gomamon a bit.” Takeru teased a little, remember how those two’s distinct personalities made dealing with each other a bit of a funny sight at times, especially if Joe was worried about something and Gomamon wanted to just relax.
”Yeah, looks like they still have some bonding they need to do.” Patamon replied, giggling a little bit at the failed attempt the boy had at trying to drag his Digimon away. Eventually the two settled their dispute, or at least the boy gave up, and he sat down. It was time for Takeru and Patamon to get to work, introducing the boy to the wonders of being a Chosen Child…and responsibilities.
As Takeru sat down, his mind raced through what needed to be discussed. First off, pointing out that Digimon aren’t a toy or a pet; they were friends. Second, while Digimon were fun to be friends with, as a Chosen Child you did have responsibilities to protect the Digital World. Of course, there hadn’t been any big threats except occasional disputes between Digimon, but no overwhelming darkness or anything like that at least. Still, there was always something to be done in the Digital World. For now, that would probably cover everything that he needed to cover.
”Well, for starters, I can introduce myself. My name is Takaishi Takeru, and this is my partner Patamon.”
”It’s nice to meet you.” Patamon added in, trying to be pleasant and social to the newbie.
”Anyway, the first thing I guess I should do is ask if you happen to have one of these. They’re called Digivices, and they’re a sign you are a Chosen Child with a Digimon partner and all that. It’s more a formality really, but sometimes wild Digimon do get out and cause problems, with some kids taking them in like a stray pet or something,” Takeru started off, taking out and showing his D-3 to the kid as a sign that he was a Chosen Child so any miscommunication was dealt with right off the back. Hawk listened to their names, but was shocked to hear what he thought was a toy speak. He turned to Impmon. “Oh, that's what you meant by they Impmon!” Finally realizing that Patamon was no toy but instead another digimon. He didn't know that their were other kids with digimon running around, it kinda made him feel less special, he thought it was the only one with the digimon in the entire world. He shrugged it off, being special usually required more work so he didn't mind it that much.
He studied the boy in front of him, he was pretty tall. His blonde hair contrasted his own a little bit. Hawk wasn't that big on fashion, but he did notice something on the blonde's head. 'That's a cool hat.' He thought to himself as he admired it, wondering where he could get one in a black or blue. Then there was the digimon in his arms, looked kinda weird. But then again his digimon was no looker as well so he really couldn't judge.
“Well they introduced themselves...it's your turn!” Impmon then whispered something to Hawk. “Or should I do it for us...Iggy?” Hawk didn't want someone to know his real name at all, let alone being introduced by it. “My name's Hawk...and this is my friend Impmon.” He wasn't very social so he didn't know what to do when people introduced themselves. But it seemed that the conversation was already moving along so he didn't have to worry about it.
When Takeru showed him a digivice he pulled out his and showed it to T.K. “I have one, smacked me in the face after it popped out of my computer monitor. Then Impmon's egg popped out after it.” He listened to Takeru's explanations and got a little worried. “Chosen child? What do you mean?” He was concerned that this would mean work for him some how. And was a little creeped out to....who exactly chose him?
Impmon just sat and listened.

”Yep, I’m a Digimon through and through.” Patamon responded rather proudly. Sure, he had to act like a stuffed toy sometimes, but when that happened, he was glad he wasn’t one. They had a hard life if a little kid got their hand on them. So much tugging and pulling….
”Yeah, Patamon and I have been partners for a long time.” Takeru responded, bragging a slight bit. But with some of the memories related to that long-term relationship of theirs, it wasn’t always bright and fun. That, however, was angst to deal with another day. Right now it was time to deal with a new Chosen Child.
The kid got to introducing himself and his partner; Hawk (which Takeru thought a weird nickname) and Impmon. Then the kid showed him his Digivice, a D-3. Yep, that meant he was definitely a newer Chosen Child. They always had a D-3. It was kind of oddly colored though; black with a red handle. Considering the only black Digivice he had seen was Ken’s, and that had some bad news, he had to be a little suspicious. So far though the two of them seemed nice enough, and Takeru wasn’t getting any hints of them being complete sociopaths like the Digimon Kaiser was. Still, might be a good idea of keeping an eye on them, just in case.
”Well, our meeting was a little more involved than just that.” Takeru responded, his memories fading to his first trip to the Digital World, meeting Tokomon, and them all Digivolving to Rookie level to defeat Kuwagamon and save them all from utter destruction. Yeah, a little more dangerous than an egg popping out of a computer.
”Don’t feel about that though. You can still be great partners even if you’re first meeting wasn’t eventful.” Patamon added, hoping that the kid didn’t feel bat that his first meeting wasn’t as exciting as him and Takeru’s. Of course, neither of them probably wouldn’t have cared if their meeting was so casual. Might have been nice to not have the constant threat of not surviving hanging over their heads. But they made it through all right.
Then came the most important part; the Chosen Child description. The kid sounded a little worried, so it was up to him and Patamon to begin explaining what their jobs were to be. Of course, they also had to let them know it wasn’t all work; they were after all supposed to become best friends for life and partners. So it would probably be best to start off simple; the protecting the Digital World from darkness might be a little bit much to take in at first.
”Well, you see, what that means is you’ve been chosen to have a Digimon partner and entrusted with a Digivice. Of course, you get all the benefit of getting a new friend for life with your partner, but there are some responsibilities,” Takeru was now starting to get more serious,”As a Chosen Child, you’re kind of been also chosen to help protect the Digital World from things that threaten it. All the stories we could tell you about that….Anyway, you shouldn’t have to worry about that. The last big threat was about a year ago, and it’s been dealt with.”
It was Patamon’s turn to inform Impmon what his duties were as a Digimon partner.
”As for you, you’re job is to make sure that your partner doesn’t come to harm. But more importantly, he’s going to be the best friend you’ve ever had. Trust us, we’re the experts,” Patamon responded rather proudly at that statement. It was true though; the two of them had been through a lot, and even the occasional fight couldn’t stop them. Hopefully these two would end up the same way. [/blockquote]

Both Hawk and Impmon listened to the other pair, a little curious about what they were saying. Hawk laughed a little bit. “I dunno, getting hit in the head with a digivice is pretty much the most eventful thing that happened to me since my family's chickens escaped.” Despite living on a farm most of his life nothing really thrilling happened to him. The last past couple weeks had in fact been the most exciting of his life just by keeping Impmon a secret. Not that he minded he loved the life of leisure. But from what he heard from Takeru...his little life of leisure was going to come to a close. He didn't like the idea of protecting anything or anyone. Maybe a cute girl, but he doubted that he would find any digimon attractive. Hawk was about to speak in protest about all this work he had to do. Only to find out that all his work had already been done? “Why am I needed if the big threat was taken care of a year ago?” It did sound unnecessary. But he didn't mind getting to take all the credit for someone elses hard work, it's what he lived for.
Impmon listened to the cream puffs ramblings as well. “I don't see what the big deal is? You're the very first digimon I've met other then my reflection. So unless your going to attack Hawk then I don't really have to do anything.” Impmon looked at Hawk and rolled his eyes. “But ya I guess, I'll protect the guy.” He sighed and was about to make a witty comment at Hawk's experience...but it seemed that Hawk would beat him to it. “O Impmon's already my best friend...because he's really my only friend.” He laughed..maybe he shouldn't have laughed. But it was easier to accept if he laughed it off. “Anything else?” He asked wondering if this thing was more complex then save the digital world.
“Actually if I may ask a question...what is the digital world even like? I've never been there myself.” His imagination could only imagine a bunch of Impmon's running around, having no idea what the digital world even was.

Chickens escaped? Okay, that was a little weird. The guy must have been from out in the country or something. It wasn’t that important anyway. A little odd, but not important. On the bright side, at least he hadn’t been sucked up into any dangerous events or battles; just the normal challenge of taking care of a Digimon.
”Well hopefully, that’ll being the only bad thing to happen to you.” Takeru replied jokingly.
Still, he had to warn the kid about big threats and protecting the Digital World. After all, if something did happen, he was going to have to be one of the Chosen Children and help defend it. Even with the last threat defeated, there was always the chance of a new one coming to terrorize the Digital World. Or conquer it. Or destroy it…villains rarely had any half-decent motives did they? Of course, that led to the logical question that Hawk asked; why was he needed if the threat was gone? Takeru, of course, already had an answer to that.
”It’s simple really. There is always a chance a new threat might appear to threaten the Digital World. The fact you have a Digimon shows that you’ve been chosen as someone capable of protecting it should that happen. Right now, the worst you’ll probably have to deal with is two Ogremon arguing over something.”
Meanwhile, Patamon was working on catching Impmon up to speed with what his job was going to do. He was a little slower on catching on it seemed. Did they ever mention that they would be the ones to attack him? And they were also the only other Digimon they’ve seen. Hmm, they needed to get out more, that was for sure. If they looked hard enough they would find other Digimon no problem at all. At least he understood that he had to protect Hawk. Though with Hawk’s comment about Impmon being his only friend made it seem that maybe there was some other issues to be dealt with. Patamon, of course, was quick to make a suggestion.
”If that’s the case, we’ll be your friends too!” Patamon chirped in, with Takeru adding a nod of agreement.
Then came the questions about the Digital World. Once again, Patamon and Takeru felt qualified in being able to answer the question since they had been there quite often.
”Well, it’s a lot like our own world. There are some cities, various climates. Sometimes the laws of nature don’t quite work right, and some areas are pretty weird, but for the most part it’s just like Earth. The exception, of course, being that there are a wide variety of Digimon running about. Some are small and fluffy like Patamon,” said Digimon looking rather proud at the comment,”While others are large and dangerous when provoked. But if you want to go there, just use that Digivice on a computer screen and you’ll open the gate to it. I’d offer to take you there but I’m responsible for dinner tonight so I can’t be home late.” [/blockquote]

Hawk wasn't known to get distracted easily...but he really wanted that hat. He was tempted to send Impmon to steal that hat right off of Takeru's head...but decided against it. The two of them couldn't run away in time, oh and there was the whole stealing is wrong thing. “O well it wasn't necessary bad. I didn't have to work for the rest of the day after we rounded them up.” He chuckled a bit to himself as he reminisced about the whole ordeal.
Hawk didn't like the idea of being on call all the time. Who knew when this new 'threat' would come around to ruin this peace? Hawk might be doing something really important at the time(Which was either napping, or playing games) was he expected to drop everything for a world that he didn't know existed until two weeks ago. He was not interested in being anyone's hero. If impmon needed him that's fine and dandy he'll help out a friend. But unfortunately he was in no hurry to run to his death trying to save a digital world.
Or so he thought.
Then Patamon said something to him, which made him change his mind real fast. He was dumbstruck for a moment, and then looked to see T.K nodding in agreement to their new friendship. The dwarf wiped his eyes since they were getting a little watery. He convinced himself that he got something in his eye that was all. He was too old and cool to cry, it just wasn't his thing. After wipeing away what ever got in his eyes he nodded. “Alright, I guess this doesn't sound to bad. I can deal with a little work if it's for a good cause.”
Impmon nodded. “Well well, I never thought that you of all people would agree to work. I must be rubbing off on you.” The digimon laughed and then leaned onto Hawk with his hand's behind his head relaxing. But still listening to what the veterans had to say.
Hawk listened to the other explain about the digital world. If he didn't have a digimon himself there would be no way that he would believe such a place actually existed. But the whole place did sound exciting, for once he actually wanted to go somewhere. He was about to ask for T.K and Patamon to take him, but was given an answer before he even got to ask the question. Which of course depressed him quite a bit but tried not to show it.
“Well, I can go again another time. This sounds like the kinda place that one shouldn't go by themselves. Well not on the first time anyway.” Impmon elbowed his partner in the stomach.
“And by myself I mean...me and Impmon...by ourselves.” He corrected his little mistake. Still wanting that hat. But it was proably not a good thing to steal from a new friend. Or any friend for that matter.

”That’s good I guess. I’d hate to have to work more after spending my day chasing chickens.” Takeru responded, trying to ‘sympathize’ with the guy. Probably would have worked if he hadn’t had Patamon with him. The Digimon had to correct him one little point.
”But Takeru, you don’t even get up till noon? I don’t think you could make it on a farm.” Patamon innocently replied. He didn’t get why Takeru would complain about working like that when he slept most of the time. Of course, he was usually right there with them; for a basketball player, he could be surprisingly lazy when he wanted to be. Takeru just grumbled out a “thanks for that”, and Patamon just stayed their smiling.
As the two talked, Takeru noticed that he seemed to tear up a little bit when Patamon said they would be his friends. Apparently he wasn’t joking about Impmon being his only friend. Well, that wouldn’t be an issue any longer. Patamon and him had a pretty good size amount of friends, and they wouldn’t mind him joining in on the group at all. Might not fit in at first, but that was always the case when someone new joined a group of people. Give it some time though, and that wouldn’t be a problem at all. After all, the Chosen Children had to stick together. That was something his first trip to the Digital World ingrained in him, and his second set of adventures strengthened.
”Oh trust us, it’s for a good cause. You won’t find a friend any more loyal than a Digimon.” Takeru responded, followed by Impmon’s comment. ”Seems that partner-Digimon bond is already working with you two.”
Eventually the conversation turned to the Digital World, and Takeru’s mentioning that they wouldn’t be able to go with him. He apparently wanted someone else with him he went. That was understandable, and even they usually didn’t go alone. Admittedly that was more because it was more fun that way then for safety, but the point still stood. If that was what they wanted, they would have to do it another day then. Then again, it was a rather safe place at this point; it wouldn’t hurt to go alone. He’d have to make that choice though.
”Well, it’s pretty safe now, but if you want someone else to go with you we can try and arrange something later this week. I might be able to convince one of my other friends to come along.” [/blockquote]

“Haha, what I would have gived to be able to get up at noon back in Canada. I got up at six AM and worked till six PM then I played on my computer for a couple hours then went to sleep. Repeat that for almost two decades and you got my entire life.” He chuckled a bit, quite happy that he left his life of work, and now wanted one with no work at all. But it seemed fate wouldn't let him off so early and gave him a new possibly even more important job. Although hopefully he wouldn't have to get up early to do his new job. “Don't feel too bad, I don't get up till 2pm now a days.” It was true since it was the summer he had no reason to get up any earlier. “Although today because of my living alarm clock, I'm up a bit earlier then normal.” He nudged Impmon back, which caused the digimon to fall of the bench. Impmon shook his fist at Hawk and climbed back on the bench.
When he heard that Impmon was going to be his most loyal friend. Hawk was a little bit septic about that, he loved Impmon that's to be sure. But Impmon just didn't scream loyal, then again neither did he so maybe that's what would make this pair work? Impmon hopped on Hawk's left shoulder, “Ya buddy, your not getting rid of me anytime soon.” “O, that's a shame. Sure I can't trade you in for another?” Both of them started to laugh together, as Impmon knew his partner was only kidding.
“All right, that should be fun. I'll clear my calendar.” Not that he was actually doing anything until school started, but Takeru didn't need to know that. “Wait other friend? You mean there are others like me and you. Other chosen children?” He tilted his head and looked at his digivice, he was feeling a little less unique as time went on but he didn't mind. If he was super special then that would only mean more work for him, and so the less special he was the less work he thought he would have to do. So he was quite happy about hearing that there might be others. “And also, what other functions does this digivice have? Or is it just to show others that we are a chosen child?” He thought it was like a police officers badge or something.
He also wanted to ask where T.K got his hat, but thought that should wait.

Working from six to six? The only time Takeru had ever done that was with Digital World issues. Of course, in his defense, rebuilding the Digital World was probably a lot more work than just a farm, right? He never worked on a farm though, and Hawk probably worked on a farm longer than he worked on the Digital World. So he had to give the win to Hawk, for now. If he tried to brag too much, they could just tell stories of the Dark Masters or Devimon or any of the other baddies they had fought in their lifetimes. Then again, that might scare him off the Digital World…
”Well, I guess you win for both hardest worker and laziest.” Takeru responded with a laugh when he mentioned he wasn’t up till 2:00 pm…except for today because of his Impmon. Said Digimon was nudged off the bench, which caused Patamon to join in the laughing a bit. Just a small laugh though; it was more of just a funny thing than being cruel about it.
Apparently Hawk got the concept because he was soon joking with Impmon about trading him in for another Digimon. Takeru was glad to see that the two of them were getting along. It was always good to see a partner and his Digimon getting along. Takeru knew how hard it could be to loose your Digimon, so seeing two happy partners was always a warming thing. Patamon felt the same way; he had no clue what he’d have done if he had never met Takeru. He might have ended up like Gatomon when she worked for Myotismon; lost, cold, and sad.
”Yep, you aren’t getting rid of us Digimon anytime soon.” Patamon added in to help with the joking.
So the two of them set up plans to get a visit to the Digital World, but Hawk seemed surprised when he mentioned there were other Chosen Children. Though at least it was a happier sounding kind of surprised than a sad. Guess he must be thinking that with more Chosen Children he would know more people and possible friends or something. After all, nothing brought people together like a common bond.
”Yeah, there are a lot of Chosen Children. I’m just a part of a small group of, let’s see, including me…12 in Japan alone. Though there might be more like you around too, ones we don’t know about. And we’ve kept in touch with Chosen Children all over the world too.”
”Mmmm,hm, we’re an ever growing group of Digimon, isn’t it great!” Patamon responded with joy. The more children, the more Digimon, and the more friends after all!
Then came a question about the Digivices. Well, that was another easy question. There weren’t too many special functions with the Digivice. Still, it was an important object that they needed to get through and explain real quick. It definitely had more to it than just a badge to show off.
”Well, we call them D-3’s for ‘Digivolve, Detect, and Discover.’ It allows for Digivolving, can Detect Digimon and other things, and Discover such things. It can also open up portals to the Digital World when used on a computer. That should cover about everything you need to know on that. Any other questions?” [/blockquote]

He didn't know if T.K just complemented him or if Hawk was just insulted. Takeru didn't seem like the kind of guy who would needlessly insult people so it must have been the former. “When it come's to being lazy, there's no one else that can top me.” Laziness is something a normal person wouldn't be proud of...but Iggy wasn't really a normal person. Since ever since he saw T.K...he's desired his hat...almost obsessively, and he didn't know why. He shrugged it off, sure there would be some day where he got a cool hat like that.
Impmon hopped onto Hawk's unfortunately bare head. He laughed, “Looks like we're all stuck together for ever. You'll just have to live with it". They both listened to the fact that there were others like them all over the world. He pondered if had left behind any in Canada. Although he only got Impmon after moveing to Japan so he didn't know if he had missed the boat on that or what.
He decided not to think about it, he officially had friends here in Japan and that's all he cared about right now. Hawk tilted his head in confusion though towards T.K's digivice explanation. “Digivolveing...what's that?” Said the noob inexperienced digi-destined. Looking at the D-3 he wondered what it detected but figured it was digimon. But he he didn't ask so he didn't look like such a idiot in front of his new friend.
He had another question that his inner hopeless romantic needed to ask. “So is there any cute girls in this little group of ours?” Impmon sighed the digimon had no need for a relationship or anything like that. He had no interest in female digimon and he wanted it to stay that way. Hawk on the other hand wanted a relationship with a female. So hopefully T.K could provide him with some inside information on girls of the digidestined.
Impmon looked at Patamon and sighed. “Humans...can't live with them...can't live with out them”

Takeru saw there might be some problem in him being proud of his laziness. Sure, being lazy every once in a while might be a good thing to do, being proud of it wasn’t that great of an idea. Still, he didn’t know the kid that much, and it might just be a summer-lazyness sort of deal. Till he knew him better, he probably shouldn’t say anything about it and instead just consider it a joke. Should said laziness hurt the Digital World, however, Hawk better watch out; in that case Takeru wasn’t going to hold back. For now though, it was a joke between friends.
Impmon joined in the conversation again, talking back to Patamon about not getting rid of the Digimon anytime soon. Even if he didn’t like it know, Takeru knew that one day Hawk would come to appreciate Impmon for who he was; his best friend. The fact that there wasn’t any current threat of them being separated was a good thing. Hawk wouldn’t have to suffer loosing his best friend, and they could just hang out and be friends instead of dealing with the stresses of saving the Digital and Real World.
”Just don’t drive him crazy, all right. Trust me, spend enough time with someone and not only do you learn to love them, you can also learn to want to strangle them sometimes.” Takeru replied, remembering fights he had with Patamon, his brother Yamato, and just about everyone. They were always small fights though, and no matter what, they were still as close as over afterwards. Nothing broke up true friendship.
Moving back into the lectures on being a Chosen Child, it was time to explain the concept of Digivolving. That was one of the more important concepts, though he was surprised that Hawk didn’t know about it. Impmon, after all, had to have Digivolved. Unless he came out as a Rookie, which Takeru doubted. All Digimon he saw with Chosen Child had started out at In-Training at the most. On the bright side, at least he had examples to use in his explanation.
”Well, actually, you’ve already seen it with Impon. Digivolving is your Digimon moving from one level to another. The levels are Baby, In-training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega. For example, Patamon is a Rookie and Digivolves to the Champion Digimon Angemon. There are a few other ones, like Armor and DNA, but you don’t have to worry about them, and the latter can’t be done anymore anyway. Any other question?”
Well, apparently he did; were there any cute girls. Takeru was taken a back a little bit, and for a second his mind flashed to Hikari (not that the others weren’t cute, she just had a special place for him due to all they had been through together), but he wasn’t going to be bringing that up. After all, Tai would kill him for that. Patamon was giggling a little bit at Takeru’s face being a little flushed at the thought, but eventually he spit out an answer.
”Uhm, well, you’re going to have to judge that one yourself.” he replied with a nervous laugh. Patamon heard Impmon mention something about living with humans, and admittedly he had the same sentiment in situations like that.
”Yeah, I’ve never really understood this part of humans.” [/blockquote]

Hawk listened to the whole digivolveing speach. “Oh right...you were a lot smaller when you were first born.” Remembering the little head that popped out of the egg. “You kinda creeped me out when you were in your previous forms...I mean you were just a head.” Impmon was a lot easier to hide as well, as it's previous forms were a lot quieter then his current one. “But you say he's going to keep digivoling until he reaches this...Mega level?”
He wondered what Impmon's mega level looked like. Iggy imagined a large purple dragon of some kind....with three heads, with a laser canon for a arm. Getting excited he wanted Impmon to digivolve right away. “Alright Impmon, go straight to your megaform!” He threw the Digivice at Impmon bonking him on the head. “Ow, that didn't work you idiot.” Hawk got up and picked the digivice off the floor. “T.K...I think I got a broken one.” Impmon rubbed his head. “Broken head is what I have.” Shaking it off and sitting on the ground.
The purple digimon looked at Takeru noticing he was getting a little flustered at the topic of cute girls. Impmon decided to take advantage of this being the shit disturber that he is. “Well well, are you sick T.K? Or are you thinking of someone special?” Impmon got closer to the talker male and smiled at him, “You can tell me, I won't tell a soul.” He lied, once he knew he would tell every person he could. Maybe even post it on the internet.
“Now I bet you wanna strangle my digimon.” He said laughing.
Hawk turned to patamon, getting slightly confused. “Are you saying that Digimon don't fall in love with other Digimon?” Another mental thought of Impmon in a tux walking down the ile with a female digimon made him giggle. Impmon really didn't seem like the kind of digimon who would settle down. He wondered if digimon did get married and stuff like that, 'Digieggs have to come from somewhere right?' He thought to himself.
Hawk wanted to talk a bit more seriously about there trip to the digital world. “So what should I bring on our trip to the digital world?” A obviously question to ask, but maybe going on the hike threw the digital world would be a lot different then a hike in the woods.
